I was at a friend’s house recently. He has this massive dog – an American Bulldog/Pitbull mix. This dog LOVES to play tug-of-war.
SO, my friend bet me that he could get the rope away from his dog faster than I could. I’m a pretty strong guy, so I said, “Watch this.” I threw the rope to the dog, then I went to get it back.
After several minutes of tug-of-war, dripping sweat, I finally got the rope back from the dog. CHAMPION!
Then my friend said, “Alright, throw it again.” So I threw the dog the rope, and my friend called to the dog, “Come get a treat!” And the dog immediately dropped the rope.
But then, my next thought was: How often do we do this with our fitness? With our health? Or with our training? We grit it out over and over, and try to force something to happen when the answer is as simple as pulling out a milk bone.
I’m not saying the answer is as simple as having the right food. Or having the best treat (I do not recommend eating milk bones).
What I AM saying is that it’s important to work WITH your body rather than against it. So many of us make progress, lose the weight, then feel defeated when we see ourselves gaining weight back.
How To Stop Gaining Weight Back For Good
That’s what Phase 1 is all about. It’s about getting your body to respond in the RIGHT way to make the biggest impact on your fitness – so that you stop gaining weight back for good.
If you hate the thought of trying ANOTHER diet or training protocol, I GET IT. If you’ve had some success, only to see yourself gaining weight back, there is no joy in that. Let’s NEVER do that again.
How? By addressing Phase 1. In today’s video, I’ll show you what Phase 1 involves, and why you NEED to start here if you want to see lasting results.
- What is Phase 1, exactly?
- What does it mean to be insulin sensitive?
- Why completely cutting carbs is NOT the answer.
