  1. There’s a difference between ‘health’ and ‘fitness’.

Health is eating organic cereal and doing fitness classes. Both great ideas but neither one of them are getting you a 6-pack.

If your goals are more along the lines of “I want to see my abs” – that requires adequate protein, structured weight training, and the right type of cardio.

Neither are bad, I just don’t want you pursuing a fitness outcome with a health mindset.

What goal are you working on right now?

  2. Here’s Exactly How I Would Lose 30lbs.

    1 Gal h20 per day
Meal Plan your dinners for the week
7+ hours of sleep per night
    3 days weight training
    3 days 30/15/3 cardio
    10k steps daily

Not terrible right? But also nothing groundbreaking.

So here’s the thing. Take these activities and GET. THEM. SCHEDULED.

The best fat loss tool is your calendar. Use it surgically.

  3. ‘No’ is a complete sentence.

If you have some people pleasing tendencies like me, maybe this will help you.

It’s easy to get sucked into saying yes to things. Which either makes you break your word, or we end up doing things we hate and never wanted to do in the first place.

It’s ok to say no. And more, it’s OK to not give an explanation for why.

If pushed for a reason though, I will often say:
-“my plate is as full as I want it to be right now”
-“That’s not a priority for me at the moment”
    or
-“I have a very important meeting with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson everyday between now and National Donut Day”

  1. On this week’s episode of the Low Carb Hustle I talk with Sachin Patel. He’s an ex-doctor that gave up his designation because he didn’t think the medical system was doing enough.

We talk about being your own physician, mushrooms (yes, that kind) and life hacks for more energy and less fat. Check it out!

  2. Do you want a free coaching session?

We’re currently offering free “nutrition audit” hot seat sessions. They’re about 15 min and we can talk about whatever would be most helpful to you.

On this Nutrition Audit we talk to Ahmad about getting out of insulin resistance.

Book your audit here (I only do 1 per day so grab it fast)

1 Question

If you accomplish you plans and hit your goals with gusto…what would life look like for you in 6 months?

What would have changed in your life? What do you do in the mornings? Who are you spending time with? (for me, The Rock…)

If you can get really clear on what this looks like, it can be easier to make the decision in the moment to have a protein shake over a bagel, go to sleep early over watching one more show, or saying NO to that happy hour that you know you’re going to end up having 4 shots of tequila, standing on the table, and belting out “Don’t Stop Believin”.

Keto Korner: I’m halfway through my 3rd week of strict keto dieting. It’s been a good week EXCEPT the day after my Phoenix Suns absolutely crapped the bed in the finals.

I had been drinking at the game and woke up with a hangover. That morning I was CRAVING carbs and would have done anything for a pancake or a English muffin.

I didn’t have one…but I literally had to pull myself away from digging through the pantry.

Oh well! Onward!
