How To Find Nutrient-Dense Foods in a Swirl of Misleading Food Labels

Food labels are filled wit misinformation. How to find nutrient-dense foods.

Let me guess. You probably just unloaded your nutrient-dense foods from your canvas Whole Foods shopping bag onto the kitchen counter, including your free-range, vegetarian-fed chicken, and organic blueberries, right?

Sounds healthy, looks healthy. But I’ve got some bad news for you:

What your food label says you’re eating is NOT what you’re really eating.

Yes, even the free-range chickens aren’t really free-range.

Most of the time, that moniker means there are several thousand chickens roaming “free” in a crowded warehouse with access to the outside. But as my podcast guest, Eugene Trufkin, explains, young chickens are often afraid to go outside and forage for the food that’s appropriate for them because of their living conditions.

Hate to burst your bubble, but this also means that the healthy vegetarian diet you think that chicken is on is really just a grain-based diet of soy and corn. (Besides, chickens are omnivores. They need delicious worms and insects as part of a nutritious diet!)

So, how do we find nutrient-dense foods when we can’t even trust food labels?

That’s why I’m glad to be hosting Eugene, author of the Anti-Factory Farm Shopping Guide,  on today’s podcast. He’s a wealth of information when it comes to how to source high quality, nutrient-dense foods that easily feed your body and mind without breaking the bank.

I’m not going to lie, this is not an easy episode to listen to because of the information you’ll learn about America’s food industry, BUT, the good news is that Eugene offers amazing solutions on how to make the best food choices in a world filled with misinformation.

How To Source Nutrient-Dense Foods in the Swirl of Misleading Food Labels

In the podcast, you’ll learn how to:

  • Discern what a food label actually means when it uses certain buzzwords
  • Understand how the food industry “grows” your food and its negative impact on your health (hydroponic farming…what the heck?)
  • Source your own nutrient-dense foods from local farms based on Eugene’s recommendations

Seriously, Eugene is so knowledgeable. I know you’re going to get a ton out of this interview.

If you’re ready to STOP being misled by food labels and marketing and START taking charge of your nutrition and how your food is sourced, this video is for you!
