What do you know about supplements? Are supplements good for you? Take a quick peek in your pantry. You may be surprised to learn that most of your supplements need to go in the garbage TODAY. And in today’s podcast, I’m going to tell you why.
But before we dive into all that, I want you to think for a minute. Why do you think supplements are called “supplements” and not “mandatories”? It’s because they’re optional. Not necessary. But that still doesn’t answer our question:
Are supplements good for you?
If you have an awesome diet – you’re eating grass-fed meat, healthy fruits and vegetables, and avoiding processed foods – the chances of you needing a supplement are low. By eating the right foods (like plenty of brightly colored fruits and vegetables) you’ll get there.
THAT’S. NOT. MOST OF US.
Most of us are eating out, or eating too many processed foods. In those cases, a good supplement can be very beneficial. It’s going to help fill in those nutritional gaps, like making sure you get enough protein or amino acids.
But the truth is, the supplement industry is the Wild West. (YEEEHAW!) That means there is NO FDA regulation on ANY supplement. Anybody – including me – can start a supplement company. I could slap my picture on a bottle and sell you some Nate Palmer SUPER MUSCLES protein powder RIGHT NOW.
So how do we know which ones are helpful, and which ones just give you really expensive, smelly pee?
In today’s podcast, you’ll learn about these FOUR supplements you need to trash TODAY.
- Pre Workouts with Taurine – if your energy powder lists taurine in the ingredients, DUMP THAT SHIT OUT.
- So-called “testosterone boosters” like grapeseed extract, deer antler spray, horny goat weed – WTF? Do these actually boost your T?
- Fat Burners. Seriously? Don’t you think if we could put that “fat burner” in a pill and take it, we would?
- Carb blockers. Hold up. If that sounds too good to be true, that’s because it’s too good to be true.
So are supplements good for you or are they harming you?
Well, if you eat your damn veggies, drink a lot of water, and get plenty of rest, you may not need them at all.
If you want to learn WHY certain supplements belong in the trash AND get my recommendations for the supplements you might actually need, listen to the podcast.
