I saw a post on buzzfeed today here about “fitspo” or Fitness-inspirational messages that had been edited to make them more realistic. I see so many of these things cross my Facebook page, some of them are good messages, like “Never Give Up”. But most of them are just an excuse to put a picture of a hot girl sweating/running stairs/taking a selfie with a faux-philosophical knockoff inspirational quote.
These things print themselves, and take all of 40 seconds to make. I did an experiment once where I wrote a detailed post on the 4 integral pieces of fat loss, and got a regular number of hits on it. Then I just posted a picture of a girl wearing boxing gloves with the phrase “don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better” and LO AND BEHOLD THE ENTIRE INTERNET WAS KNOCKING AT MY DOOR.
As someone who thinks words are almost as important as pictures of hot girls, I was offended.
Here are some of my favorites that I’ve seen recently, edited in a way that makes me like them more. If you don’t like them, I don’t care. Go look at something else.
